I built a life people say isn't possible.
A top-level music career is supposed to be all or nothing.
I spent twenty years chasing that dream. I got there and had the spotlight, the respect, the awards…for a time, I was living my younger self’s dream.
But achieving that dream came with a heavy serving of anxiety, stress, loneliness, and the occasional panic attack as I gave my career everything I had.
Then, five years ago, I lost my job and unexpectedly moved to a new state in the space of 14 days.
It was a brutal shake-up at the time, but it set me on the path to building a multi-million-dollar business and a life I love.
When the music industry shut down, and a short visit to my long-distance boyfriend became permanent, I needed to find a way to make money...fast.
I had zero experience outside of music, not even bartending or serving, but my partner’s retail business needed help, so I jumped in head first.
In the first month, I built an e-commerce store from scratch and launched a social media presence, selling $100,000 worth of apparel that could no longer be sold in person.
My boyfriend taught me merchandising. The internet taught me marketing.
The experience proved that creativity is not a job title—it's an attitude.
I created the life of my dreams
by rewriting the rules
That project changed everything, and I found a new passion for merchandise and marketing. Those, plus storytelling, became unexpected creative outlets.
We live in the North Woods with our two cats, own two stores, and are on track to hit multiple seven figures.
I found a way to balance my touring career with my passion for storytelling and retail, and I still hop on a plane once or twice a month to throw on my rhinestone boots and play bass in a Nashville band.
I’m proof that you can rewrite what “success” means and create a life that actually feels like yours.
What I’ve learned:
Storytelling is the bridge between you and your customers. It is the most effective way to grow a social media audience, turn followers into customers, and make more money as a solopreneur.
You have a story to tell.
I can help you find it.
