In the music industry, a top-level career is often framed as all or nothing—a relentless pursuit that demands sacrificing your passions, relationships, and sense of balance just to keep a foothold. And for twenty years, I believed and chased that story.
I played around the world, on massive stages, for roaring crowds. I earned music awards, endorsements, and the respect of industry heavyweights. For a time, I was living my younger self’s dream.
But after achieving it, I realized it wasn’t enough. I wanted more than a career dictated by others’ expectations. I wanted a life that I designed—one with more peace, more trees, and more time to focus on what truly matters to me.

In 2020, I made the choice to walk away from arena tours, industry pressures, and my home in Nashville, risking my music career to pursue a life that felt authentic and balanced. Now, I run two thriving retail businesses with the love of my life, nestled in the North Woods with our two cats. And every month or so, I hop on a plane to join my band, step into my rhinestone boots, and play bass on the big stage, showing up fully as both a performer and the creator of a life I love.
