LIPSTICK, GLITTER AND LEATHER BUTTS: 3 THINGS I LOVE FOR STAGE
3 things I've discovered for stage that are both functional AND rad. I'm wearing all three in this photo (Stagecoach 2018) but even if you could really see the make-up clearly I'm not sure it's the best example of application. I had flown for 6 hours, been in a van for 2 and then gotten ready for the show in the toilet of a temporary backstage office using my phone screen as a mirror. Yay! Glamour! Testament to the usability of the products that I was able to apply them at all.
Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick
I love this lip stain more than I've loved any makeup before. I have a dozen of them, in all different shades, and I wear them pretty much every day and for every show. They're amazing because they truly are a stain, and won't budge even in the face of sweat, melty stage lights and the occasional face mash into a microphone. Yet at the end of the night they're easy to take off with any face wash or makeup remover. And they're cheap ($14)!
STILA Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow
This sparkly liquid magic is amazing worn on it's own, over a darker shadow to create depth, or dotted under your eye or in the corner for a subtle sparkle. It comes in a range of hues and the best part is it doesn't feel like you're sanding your eyelid off when you remove it at the end of the night. I use my regular makeup remover wipes to easily remove it and there's no trace left the next morning.
These are pricy ($100) so I was a bit skeptical of them at first, how could any leggings be worth spending $100 on!?? They really are amazing and worth that price though. They feel like leggings, act as tummy shapewear AND look like leather pants - WIN, WIN, WIN! Plus, no camel toe. Definitely recommend trying some on (Macy's has them).. they're tight, and they're meant to fit tight so the shaping works, but you don't want them so tight you can't breath or sing.
